Fear (A Poem In Verse Not Terse)

When @happycampergirl posted the prompt ‘Fear’ so many thoughts mingled through my head. I knew I wanted to try to share my feelings with less intensity, but still stay true to what I wanted to say. Then out of the blue I thought I might try to write this post as a poem

Fear (A Poem In Verse Not Terse)

It cripples, it holds me back
What is it I want to do, but don’t?
As a child I explored, no fear,
The world at my finger tips.
Then came, be careful, be ware
There is strangeness out there.
Still the urge to explore drew me out
I found the ground that let me stand.
Not all fears hold me down.
Child you know, you need to learn what is so.
And I grew in control.
Fear not always bad,
Makes you stop and look around.
Is this where I want to be,
Is this where I want to go.
For today and for right now
Fear has lost and I have found
A place for me.
